| I had the dash apart in my 2004 TJ. I opened the sevice flap right behind the windshield. This flap goes all the way across the dash. I saw a set of wires that led to a connection that was pinned down right in front of the passenger. The was nothing plugged into the connection. Does anyone know what this is for. I bought this TJ in January and it only had 22,000 miles. I know little about it other than it rides good and we have fun with it!! |

| The wiring you describe was for the factory optional auto dimming mirror with compass and outside temperature probe. |

| Another connector that will be in that area is for the dash mounted GPS pod, but I think that is a smaller connector and is more behid the radio |

My 04 has the same plug.
I just figured it was for something I don't have.
Can it be used for anything?
Could I add the temp and compass?
